Behind the veil of Colorado's premier Interactive Agency

The Influence of Blogging on the Corporate World Jim Halligan

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

CSIAThere was a great turnout at the CSIA event this morning sponsored by Denver Botanic Gardens and Indigio. It is good to know that many local companies, from startups to long-tenured businesses, are beginning to realize the importance blogging. Blogs can be used to help manage brands, boost link equity, increase traffic, and serve as an innovative customer service tool. Of course, it’s not just having a blog on your site that will help- it has a lot to do with how you execute. From the fantastic and diverse panel, we received the following suggestions in regards to entering to blogosphere:

Time Matters - Being accepted into a web community doesn’t happen overnight. It is recommended that you read 10 blog posts and comment on 2 before you write your first. Try to get into the mind set of the people you are trying to reach. As you and your organization become more comfortable, and have a consistent flow of posts- the traffic will come.
Provide Value- Many companies are worrisome about negative comments associated with their brand or product. This is a valid concern, but it creates a golden opportunity to correct the wrong. The dialogue is available to the public eye and in most cases helps to build social equity. Trust has become a major issue on the Internet in the last few years, and blogging opens those lines of honest communication.
Look Ahead - By understanding the trends in your niche and what is to come, blogs can be used to communicate your knowledge and expertise to the community. Practicing this type of writing can mold your company into an authority on the subject at hand, and the benefits are quite obvious.

Indigio & Becki Dilworth Nominated for Apex Awards Tom Whittaker

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Today, CSIA - Colorado’s Technology Association announced companies and individuals nominated for the 8th annual CSIA Apex Awards.  Indigio was nominated in the corporate category and Becki Dilworth was nominated in the individuals category.  This is the largest annual technology award event in Colorado, so this is very exciting.

“The nominated companies represent the leaders of Colorado’s technology industry,” said Barbara Bauer, co-chair of the 2008 CSIA Apex Awards. “It’s important to recognize the achievements made in our state, as well as the people behind the successes.” “These nominees - as well as the guests - represent the innovation and business success of technology in Colorado,” Jackie Walden, co-chair of the 2008 CSIA Apex Awards added.

A full description of the categories is available at CSIA’s Web site at www.coloradotechnology.org.  The winners will be announced on June 5th at the Apex Awards event.

I personally am very proud to be a part of a company recognized and I am especially happy my friend and co-worker Becki is being honored.  Becki is truly deserving as she is an industry leader and is one of the reasons for Indigio’s success.  Good luck Becki!

Heather Sharp Promoted to Director of Marketing Tom Whittaker

Friday, March 14th, 2008

hsharp-photo-crop.jpgI am very pleased to announce the promotion of Heather Sharp to the position of Director of Marketing for Indigio. Heather joined us one year ago as Marketing Manager. She previously worked at Budget Truck where she managed Budget’s off-line marketing strategy and communications.

Over the past year, Heather has done an amazing job of helping to build awareness of Indigio in Denver’s technical and marketing community through her work with Colorado’s Technology Association (CSIA), Denver Chamber of Commerce and the local chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA).  Additionally, Heather has helped to refresh our branding and sales collateral, maintained our quarterly newsletter distribution, lead Indigio’s participation at several trade shows and launched over 12 press releases. In this new position Heather will focus on extending relationships for Indigio beyond Denver to Colorado, the Rocky Mountain Region and even potentially nationally.

Please join us in congratulating Heather on her promotion and in wishing her continued success at our company.

Indigio digs in at Botanic Gardens Becki Dilworth

Friday, February 8th, 2008

Yes, it’s a rather cheesy title, but it really reflects our blossoming relationship with the Denver Botanic Gardens (somebody, please stop me).

About six months ago, the Gardens approached CSIA (Colorado’s largest IT trade organization), to help connect the organization with key people across the state in updating the Gardens’ technology. The Denver Botanic Gardens IT Task Force was born, bringing together some of the smartest people in the state to develop a long-term vision around bringing technology into the gardens.

In early December, the Task Force met with Indigio and asked if we would join them and help in the strategy for the Gardens’ re-vamped Web site. As I said, these people are smart - so it was hard to pass up.

Over the past two months, we have literally fallen in love with the folks at the Gardens. Their vision and support is beyond refreshing, and they’re just good people.

And this week - we received some great news. Not only will we continue leading the online strategy with the IT Task Force, the Gardens has selected Indigio as its interactive agency moving forward. For us, that means a redesigned Web site and continued support for all of the Gardens’ online marketing needs.

We’re thrilled to be a part of such an innovative and supportive group — and literally can’t wait to see what these seeds grow into.

Ok. These puns are getting ridiculous.

Heather Sharp Accepts Exciting Volunteer Opportunity at CSIA Tom Whittaker

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

csia.gifCongratulations to our Marketing Manager, Heather Sharp.  She has been asked to serve as a volunteer co-chairing the Colorado Software & Internet Association’s (CSIA) Steering Committee.  This is an honor and I am very proud that Heather has been offered such an important role with CSIA.

What is CSIA all about?

CSIA is the voice and support network for Colorado’s technology and software industries. CSIA, through its public policy and advocacy work, represents more than 3,000 IT companies statewide. The mission of CSIA is to foster innovation and a positive growth environment to enable the technology industry in Colorado to compete on a global basis.

What will Heather be doing?

Heather will be leading the steering committee that is tasked on a strategic level to create and direct an environment conducive to creative thinking in order to better position and brand CSIA.  She will submit recommendations to CSIA and the Board of Directors on value proposition statements, marketing direction, organizational and program branding, press relations and media development.

That sounds great, but what does it really mean?

Similar to how Heather has helped provide the marketing vision and strategy for Indigio, she will now help do this for CSIA.

So why Heather?

As most of you know and have seen this past year, Heather has done an amazing job of moving Indigio to new levels. She is organized, a hard-worker, thoughtful, creative and energetic. Most of all, CSIA has seen Heather in action.  They felt she was the perfect person and has the right skills to assist CSIA in their marketing efforts.  We could not agree more.

When will Heather be assisting CSIA?

Indigio has been kind enough to donate a portion of Heather’s work time each month, approximately 20 hours, for her to assist CSIA.  Indigio feels it is important that technology companies have a voice and community in Colorado, so this is why we are willing to let staff members participate and provide assistance to such a strong and positive organization like CSIA.

Again, congratulations to Heather on this exciting opportunity.  We know you will make us proud.
