“Untitled” at the Denver Art Museum Jessica Slater

June 30th, 2008

The Alltunators played at the Denver Art Museum on Friday, as part of the monthly “Untitled” event . The last Friday of every month, the DAM hosts what they call a “mixed media” event, and on this occasion the theme was thread. We really weren’t sure what to expect, but it was a lot of fun. My favorite item was the theatrical performance in the freight elevator, in which three people in swimsuits performed a sequence of short scenes, riffing on the thread idea in an impressively surreal way… I can say with confidence it was the best performance in a freight elevator I’ve ever seen! There were also delicious snacks, beer and wine. All round a great event, and for me, the first time in the new Frederick C. Hamilton building - exciting to see the space being used so creatively, and to see the arts are alive and kicking in Denver!
