Integrated Blogging on 9News.com
June 9th, 2008This past week, my favorite local news website 9News.com launched a new site design that has one very interesting new feature, integrated blogging. Now as site users read up on the latest news, they can post their own thoughts on it. Content and community all on one page.
What makes me really excited is that finally a locally based website it doing what larger websites have been doing for a long time. Sites like The Huffington Post, Reddit and Daily Mail have had integrated blogging for some time and have experienced increased success with it. Now with the addition to 9news it is possible to get a quick and deeper perspective on news events. The neighbor who was across the street when the incident took place can post to provide context on the latest local newsmakers and people can react to news events and other posts. Post a comment for yourself and you will instantly become addicted not only to blogging but also to the site itself.
I’m glad to see a local news station put the effort into technology to make itself more relevant to me. Adding blogging to a website just makes it more “sticky” for users.

I’m confused, are you talking about commenting on the stories?
