Upgraded to WordPress 2.5
March 31st, 2008The Indigio Blog has been upgraded to WordPress 2.5. This is a significant release with the most visible enhancements contained within the Administration interface. For more details on the changes see this post:

Some of my favorite changes are the improvements to image file upload and management. I think most WordPress users will enjoy these enhancements. I created some screenshots as I went through the new interface this morning.
You’ll now notice ‘Add Media’ on the top of the Post Text Area with ‘Add an Image’ being the left most icon.
From here you’ll be greeted with a pop-up with three tabs. The first tab allows you to either upload new images or insert an existing external image straight into the post.
It is now possible to multi-select multiple images at one time to streamline the process. Be sure to click ‘Save All Changes’ when finished. The Gallery tab is where all of your uploaded images are visible for insertion. There is also a new feature where the entire gallery can be inserted into your post.
Show and Hide will toggle the insert UI for each image. There is now a ‘medium’ format that is quite usable and sets the image width to 300 pixels versus only thumbnail and full-size previously.
Very nice, and very usable. If you have any questions or problems using the new version of WordPress please let me know. If you discover something useful - please share!
