Downtown Denver Cheap Lunch Restaurants Thomas Noon

In this edition of cheap eats I wanted to share a couple of more places that are more of the sit down variety in the downtown area. These places are relatively inexpensive and offer casual yet trendy settings to sit and enjoy your meal:

• Illegal Pete’s
  • Illegal Pete’s is located at 1530 16th St near the corner of 16th and Blake. This eatery offers a casual, upbeat setting that serves huge mission-style burritos, Baja-style fish tacos, quesadillas, burrito bowls and more! Pricing here is pretty comparable to Qdoba or Chipotle. One thing they do while making your burrito is mix up the ingredients in the burrito before they roll it up and serve it. This is something unique that their customers rave about. They also have a bar with TVs which makes for a pretty good happy hour setting also. In addition to excellent customer feedback this place also was recognized by Best of Citysearch: Denver Restaurants as editorial winner of Best Burrito of 2006. If you haven’t already, check this place out.

• Wazee Supper Club
  • In my opinion, this is the home of the best pizza Downtown Denver has to offer. There are also sandwiches, thick onion rings and french fries as well but their specialty is the pizza with the wonderful sauce and cheese not to mention the huge meat and veggie toppings as well. Located at the corner of 15th and Wazee, this restaurant is reasonably priced and a lot of fun! From tile floor to the ’30s art deco-style bar, this place is trendy and retro at the same time. Whether it is lunch, hanging out with friends for happy hour, or late night eats, you should certainly try this place.
