Heatmaps Step 2 – Exploring New Technologies Michael Bucks

November 16th, 2007

Heat Map Day One ResultsAfter many struggles getting Clickdensity to play nice with Wordpress, and receiving a tip from Micah about Crazy Egg, I have made the switch and couldn’t be happier about it. Crazy Egg not only has a beautifully simple front-end, but it shows me incredibly useful data (check out the heatmap to the left). I can see where users are coming from, what OS they’re on, browser stats, and even the size of their browser window. Magic.

It’s been really interesting and exciting to see what people are using. Here are some findings from the first day…

Total Visits: 215

Total Clicks: 59

Most Common OS: XP

Most Common Browser: Firefox 2.0

As illustrated by the heatmap, my original hypothesis that no one is using the category navigation was all wrong. Either that or my fellow Indigians are trying to make me look a fool. Kitties!
